| Lot #1536 RUSSIA 1921 (Aug 12) large registered, value declared (7,500r) cover used locally in Moscow, paying 180r with 20r (pelure paper) and lower left sheet corner margin block of 4x40r (marginal creases), with Moscow Ekspeditsya (three solid triangles) in oval and arrival pmks (Aug 13), five virtually intact Moscow post office wax seals with Imperial eagles on back. These definitive stamps were issued only two days earlier on August 10th and on August 15th, new postal rates were established with 250r for a letter and 1000r for registration. This cover is accompanied by two brief notes referring to the franking, which is actually extremely scarce on commercial mail, only a few known used before August 15th  Catalog #180a,187 | Price Realized $8,000.00 |
