| Lot #330 CHINA Prisoner of War Mail 1918 (1 Sep) cover endorsed "Service des Prisonniers de Guerre", framed bilingual handstamp alongside, addressed to the Red Cross in Holland, with oval "Internierungslager Haitien" Camp cachet, with Peking departure and Gravenhage arrival pmks on back, "Opened by Censor" label (applied in Mount Pleasant, London), fine and scarce cover from the Haitien Camp (near Peking) (under pressure of the allies, China broke its diplomatic relations with Germany and Austria on 14th March, 1917. The Dutch envoy represented the German interests in China from then on and War was declared on August 14, 1917. China interned members of the East-Asiatic marine detachment in various camps, including "Haitien", "Wan-chou-Tse" and others in Hailun and Tsitsikar, Manchuria)
