1942 (22 June) German 6pf stationery card from Litzmannstadt, Ghetto with "Litzmannstadt Grosste Textil-Industrie im Osten" (greatest textile Industry in the East) slogan cancel, addressed to Oberndorf, with type written message stating "the addressee has left for an unknown destination", with "Der Oberburgermeister Gettoverwaltung" (Lord Mayor of the Ghetto Government) printed and handstamped inscriptions, archival holes (Litzmanndstadt - Lodz, had been a key industrial center in prewar Poland. The Lodz ghetto became a major production center under the German occupation and they used Jewish residents for forced labor. By August 1942, there were almost 100 factories within the ghetto which produced textiles, especially uniforms, for the German army)
