Brooklyn", another forwarded from Chefoo via the French Post office to Cavite, Philippines, etc., mixed condition, superb presentation of U.S. presence in China during the Boxer War, with many rare and elusive items

Registered mail from the Military Stations is relatively scarce, only 25 (!) have been recorded over the past century, including those from Peking and Taku

| Lot #4006 United States Intervention in China China Relief Expedition - Boxer Rebellion 1901 (9 Jan) 2c stationery entire envelope with additional 8c franking, tied by "CHINA" handstamps, registered to Atlanta, with corresponding "Registered Mil. Postal Sta. No.1, China" departure cds, further handstamped "Return Receipt Demanded", "R No.66" alongside, with San Francisco transit and arrival (Feb15 1901) pmks on back. This is the only recorded example of this Return Receipt handstamp, fine. (It should be noted that Registered mail from the Military Stations is relatively scarce, only 25 (!) have been recorded over the past century, including those from Peking and Taku)

No.1, China" departure pmk, addressed to Michigan, also a receipt for U.S.Postal Money Order, with corresponding Apr 4 1901 pmk, small cover tears, stated to be the "only recorded example of M.O.B. postmark"
