	Lot #4053 UNITED STATES POSSESSIONS Wake Island 1933-45 single Frame (16 pages) exhibit with 23 covers or cards, showing various types of mail to and from Wake, including ship mail, Pan-Am flight covers, contractors' mail and military usages. There are two Japanese Occupation covers, civilian internee and Marine POW items from WWII. Naval mail is from U.S.S. Chaumont (Dec 27 1933), Flight covers include a cover from U."S.S.Nitro", Pan-Am Survey flight from Honolulu to Wake and Midway, only recorded Special Delivery mail to Wake Island, letter from a Marine on Wake sent on the last Pan-Am outbound flight Dec 5,1941, cover to Pearl Harbor, "Transferred to Wake Island", returned to sender "Undeliverable", two Japanese Occupation covers, identified by address coded "U-103" ("Otori-Shima") (less than 10 pieces recorded), finally "Surrender Plea Flight Wake Island" cover with U.S. Navy 1 Sep 1945 pmk	$3,500.00 Bidding Closed
