ROMANIA Romanian Soldiers in Siberia
1920 two covers from Cadet Buchen to his family in Czernowitz, Bukovina, one "American YMCA" soldier's mail cover franked with Russian imperf. 1r brown & red, tied by oval Vladivostok (15.7.20) pmk, addressed to Romania, showing return address of "Romanian Concentration Point at Staraja Rieka", Cernauti (7 Oct 1920) arrival pmk on back. The second cover is franked with imperf. pair of 1r, showing part of Krasnoyarsk, Siberia departure address, Czernowitz arrival pmk on back (Romanians served in the Austro-Hungarian army and were in POW camps in Siberia. Few were apparently recruited by the Allies and became part of the International Intervention Force). These two covers are possibly the only known from this little known chapter of history)
