POLAND Bug and Styr River Flotillas Naval and Maritime Mail
1916-18 collection of 16 cards or covers, written-up on exhibit pages, showing mail from the small naval flotillas employed along the Bug and Styr Rivers in Poland and Ukraine. This collection shows special handstamps "Imperial & Royal HQ of the Bug Flotilla" with anchor in the center, 4th Army markings, card set in 1917 from Chelm, Transport Detachment companies, "K.u.k.Bugflotille" handstamp on card mailed from Dorohusk, others from FPO 448, 524. 357, 448, censored cover from Chelm to Holland, sent by Major Verspyck, one of the senior officers of the Flotilla, cachets black out by censor (only known cover, rather than card), finally the fieldpost card with "K.u.K Flotillenweft Rozyszcze", FPO 172 pmk, sent to Vienna (one of only two examples recorded). A fine showing of this virtually unknown footnote of Polish military/naval history
