| Lot #4442 JAPAN Russo-Japanese War 1905 (26 Mar) picture postcard to the Imperial War Ministry in Vienna, sent by an Austrian officer attached to the Japanese Army, message reads "Greetings from the battlefield of Mukden, 21 Mar 1905" (the battle of Mukden lasted 20 days. It was the final and the most decisive major land battle of the Russo-Japanese War. Involving 610,000 combat participants and 164,000 combatant casualties, it was the largest modern-era battle fought prior to World War I)
