           | Lot #4369 BRITISH COMMONWEALTH French Expeditionary Corps in Palestine 1917-19 collection of 22 covers or cards on exhibit pages, showing usages from the French Detachment in Palestine during World War One, markings include "Tresor et Postes 601", Garrison Francaise de Jerusalem, registered cover with EEF franking to Limoges, "Palestine-Syrie" cachet on cover from Beirut, with "Tresor et Postes 600" cds, cachet of French Flying Corps, another with "9th Battalion of 2nd Algerian Sharpshooters", postcard from Jaffa with "Secteur 601A/D.F.P." with Jerusalem Cross cachet (previously unrecorded), Fieldpost marking of the French Military Telegraph Station at Khan Yunis (coverfront only), internal mail between French units, using EEF franking, one being a card from the French High Commissioner in Palestine, canceled by British Army Post Office SZ44 pmk, with British censor cachet, card endorsed "Legion Armenienne", showing Jerusalem Cross pmk, canceled "Tresor et Postes 601-B" (stated to be the rarest of all French FPO markings in Levant), also a cover with similar cancel addressed to Cairo, opened by censor, registered cover with oval "Detachement Francaise/Cooperative/Palestine" cachet, registered via Port Said to Cairo, British "Passed Censor 1" cachet, plus other markings, including elusive "Detachement Francaise de Palestine-Syrie" unit cachets from the Provost and Automobile Service units.
