This is one of only four recorded covers from American troops showing use of the postmark of the British TPO in North Russia

| Lot #4055 ALLIED INTERVENTION IN RUSSIA - NORTH RUSSIA United States forces in North Russia 1919 (24 Feb) cover franked with Russian 2x15k adhesives, tied by Archangel departure cds, addressed to a Private Percy Collar, HQ 339th Infantry American North Russian Expeditionary forces, violet "Censure Militaire Archangel 4" and Archangel (29 Feb) transit markings on back. This is one of only five (!) examples recorded of local mail to U.S. soldiers in North Russia. Censorship of Russian civilian mail was under the control of an allied commission headed by the British, American and French officers
