Welcome to our March 2025 Sale of U.S. and Worldwide Stamps and Postal History, taking place Tuesday and Wednesday, March 18-19 at our Teaneck galleries and over the internet via CherrystoneLIVE. The auction highlights are quite numerous, beginning with a solid section of United States including many rarities and graded items. There are outstanding collections of Albania, France, Germany & Colonies, featuring Part I of the extensive collection of Japanese Prisoner of War Camps for captured German soldiers at Tsingtao. Rarities from Italy & Colonies include Offices in China, Oltre-Giuba and others. There are Krakow overprints from Poland, original Artist drawings of the World War II "Gorale" issue, exceptional collections of Russia, Liechtenstein, Great Britain and British Commonwealth, as well as South and Central American countries. There is a collection of "Petroleum and Oil Exploration" on stamps, formed by Dr.Peter Scholle and presented exhibition style on pages, showing rarities from the Middle East and Gulf States. From Egypt, you will find the complete set of Port Fouad in sheets. As always, there are nearly 200 large lots and collections, ranging from single country albums to specialized collections, multi-carton worldwide properties and large cover lots.

LARGE LOTS AND COLLECTIONS SIERRA LEONE
1859-1935 advanced collection, Queen Victoria through George V, virtually complete (missing only SG 68, 69 and 71), neatly displayed on 21 album pages, with a good range of the 1859-74 unwmkd 6d with shades and two used examples with the "Dot after "Six" variety, 1872-73 wmk Crown CC to 1sh, both upright and sideways watermark unused or used, 1876 Crown CC perf 14 to 1sh unused and used including the scarce 4d blue (2), 1883 set to 4d used and unused with the rare 4d blue, 1884 to 1sh; 1888 multifranked registered cover to Lausanne, with 1/2d, 1d and 1d, 2d and 2 1/2d bisects, 1899 registered cover to England franked with "REVENUE" overprinted stamps, 1885 6d with shades, overprinted "Specimen" (2), also a die proof, 1893 Crown CC 1/2 on 1 1/2d lilac, Crown CA 1/2d on 1 1/2d lilac with inverted overprint (3), "PFNNY" error unused pair, used single and a registered cover to Switzerland franked with nine examples of this stamp, 1896-97 set to £1 used, also £1 unused, plus some covers, 1897 1d (4) and an exceptional, practically complete range of the 2 1/2d surcharges on the 1d Duty stamps with 2 1/2d on 3d and 2 1/2d on 6d, all four types in a strip of 4, plus another strip and pairs, etc., 2 1/2d on 1sh, all types in pairs (6), singles (8) and a block of four. In addition, there are pairs with round and square stops, the rare italic "N" in "REVENUE"’ variety (3, one unused and two used, one in a pair), the rare 2 1/2d on 2sh types 8 and 11 unused, 1903-04 and 1907 KEVII sets to £1 used, 1912-21 George V set complete with shades to £5 used, 1921-27 set complete to £2 used, £5 unused, 1932 set to £1 and 1933 Wilberforce set to £1, both used, 1935 Silver Jubilee with varieties, etc., few minor flaws possible, mostly fine-v.f. A splendid Sierra Leone collection (SG £67,000 excluding covers)
