RUSSIA Air Post Semi-Officials
1922 1,200m on 50k Consular Air Post, overprint type IV, position 9, small h.r., well centered and fresh, faint vertical crease at left and a single slightly short perf. at top, v.f., signed Romeko, Herbert Bloch, etc., with 1978 Friedl and 2023 Buchsbayew certificates. A major RSFSR and Air Post rarity as type IV occurs only twice in the setting of 25 (positions 4 and 9), leaving only 4 possible stamps (at Cherrystone, we have offered a type IV only once before, in our September 16-18, 2008 Russia Specialized Sale, $190,000 hammer) (Zverev $82,500, Shatylo $170,000, Mi.Euro 40,000)
