1866 (6 Aug) outer FL to Rio de Janeiro, endorsed "Via Kingston - Jamaica", crossed out and replaced with "Panama", franked with 2x6p red brown perf. 12 1/2, tied by grid "6" cancels of Riverton, corresponding dispatch and "Invercargill Southland Au 17 66" pmks, red London Paid (29 Oct) transits on reverse, British "1/" in red crayon, partly legible Rio de Janeiro arrival backstamp in blue, overall ageing and considerable cover wear, with some attempted mending, nevertheless extraordinary Chalon cover addressed to South America
