1917 (Jan 7) 2c stationery entire envelope with additional 1c and 2c franking, sent from Ansonia, Connecticut to Nauru, N.W.P.I., redirected to Brisbane, Australia, routed via Hong Kong, Opened by Censor label at left, with Japanese transit pmks on back, Brisbane Apr 17 censor pmk and 11 Apr arrival in crayon, two U.S.Christmas seals, most uncommon destination (Nauru was annexed by Germany in 1888 and incorporated into Germany's Marshall Islands. In 1914, following the outbreak of World War I, Nauru was captured by Australian troops)
