1916 (24 Aug) large cover from Madang to the International Red Cross in Geneva, headed "Letters for Enemy Country enclosed", franked with 23x1d George V N.W.P.I. overprints, tied by departure cds, with framed "‘Passed by Censor S.D." handstamp, repeated on back, Rabaul transit and Geneva arrival pmks on back. Crayon indication "Civil", cover apparently sold after the war by the International Agency for Prisoners of War (handstamped with a boxed "Vendu par L'Agence International des Prisonniers de Guerre"), also "Collection Pierre LaFond 1914-1918", filing folds and cover wrinkles, spectacular showpiece
