1861 1c blue, strip of three, used on cover with "Beaufort, S.C. Feb 12" postmark, addressed to Guilford, Conn (?), some toning and other minor faults, scarce usage (South Carolina was the first state to secede from the Union in December 1860, and was one of the founding member states of the Confederate States of America in February 1861)
