1878 (4 Apr) cover to Smyrna (opened for display), franked on back with strip of 3x20pa pale green (surcharged), tied by "Alep Turquie" double circle departure pmks, sent through the French Post Office in Alexandretta, where 30c Type Sage was added on front, tied by blue "Alexandrete Syrie 5 Avril 78" cds, with arrival (10 Apr) and small Ottoman seal on back, cover mending on reverse, otherwise fine
