Our September 24-25, 2024 auction features solid selections of United States (including further material from the Larry Brasler stock), Canada, Great Britain & British Commonwealth, Latin and South America, European Countries, including Austria, France, Germany, Italy, as well as Poland, Russia, Spain and Switzerland. There is an old-world collection of Mixed Frankings and Redirected Mail, formed by a European gentleman, with an extraordinary selection of combination usages. Other areas areas are well represented, with China, Japan and Korea. As always, the sale contains 160+ large lots and collections, with individual country albums, worldwide accumulations in cartons, cover lots and much more. 1912 (Muhammed Ali-Shah Senneh Rebellion Issue), double internal rate cover bearing a 10sh and 2x1sh overprinted "Al-Sultan Mohamad Ali-Shah Qajar", tied by Senneh (25.IV.12) cds, with "Hamadan (Depart)" (28.IV.12) alongside, addressed to Imperial Bank of Persia in Kermanshah, with a large handstamp across the cover obliging the authorities to return the cover to Senneh, also a large "C" control handstamp, fine and scarce item

1912 cover franked on back with pair of 3ch Ahmad Shah stamps overprinted "Official", sent from Urumia, via Kazvin to Hamadan, fine (after the occupation of Iranian Azerbaijan by Russian forces, the local authorities decided to overprint the remaining stock of stamps at their disposal and supplied them for use for a short period in selected cities in the Azerbaijan province)

1921 (25 May) Parcel Post receipt, franked with a horizontal pair of "1921 Coup d'etat" overprints, used with Ahmad Shah adhesives, with seal of Teheran Municipality "Baladieh Teheran", fine and rare, signed Dr. Dadkhah (in May 1921, in order to commemorate the Coup d'etat of 21st February, Moshir Moazzam, the Minister of Posts and Telegraphs agreed to a special overprint on a certain number of remainders of the 1914 Coronation stamps. However, upon his return from Europe, Camille Molitor, Director-General of Post declared the action "illegal" and ordered the destruction of the entire stock of stamps with this overprint)

Grey, the bank director at The Imperial Bank of Persia in Teheran, fine and unusual route (taken to avoid the troubled southern Fars province where mails were intercepted by rebels)
