ISRAEL Air Post
1955 (27 July) flown cover (somewhat defective) from Vienna to Tel Aviv, with three-line cachet in Hebrew: "This piece of mail survived from El-Al airplane which was shot down over Bulgaria on 27.7.55", with the original envelope in which the recovered mail was forwarded, both attractively presented on two exhibit pages (El-Al Flight 402 was an international passenger flight from London to Tel Aviv, via Vienna and Istanbul. On 27 July 1955, the flight strayed into Bulgarian airspace and was attacked by two Bulgarian MiG-15 jet fighters, crashing near Petrich. All 7 crew and 51 passengers on board the airliner were killed)
