The May 7-8, 2024 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World will take place at our Teaneck, N.J. Galleries, via CherrystoneLIVE. There are 1,562 lots, offered in four sessions, beginning with United States, followed by a diverse worldwide holding formed by Dikran Taner. There are solid sections of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Italian States, Switzerland, Turkey, as well as British Commonwealth, featuring John Pedneault's postal history of Ireland, extensive Bermuda, British Africa and various individual rarities. In addition, there are selections of China, with Red Revenues, numerous Flight and Zeppelin covers, rare booklets and more. Finally, the last session is highlighted by Large Lots and Collections, with 184 lots ranging from single country albums, specialized holdings, multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact.

1840 soldier's letter home from a private in the 13th Light Infantry at Kernaul, India to Dublin, countersigned by the commanding officer for the 4 pence concessionary rate with a red oval "Kernaul Free", Calcutta Ship Letter, circular "Soldier's & Seaman's" "By Ship/4" and "India Letter Portsmouth" framed handstamp, contents include a description of the march from Calcutta to Cawnpore en route to Kabul, some paper erosion and strengthening, otherwise a fine letter sent during the First Afghan War
