The May 7-8, 2024 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World will take place at our Teaneck, N.J. Galleries, via CherrystoneLIVE. There are 1,562 lots, offered in four sessions, beginning with United States, followed by a diverse worldwide holding formed by Dikran Taner. There are solid sections of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Italian States, Switzerland, Turkey, as well as British Commonwealth, featuring John Pedneault's postal history of Ireland, extensive Bermuda, British Africa and various individual rarities. In addition, there are selections of China, with Red Revenues, numerous Flight and Zeppelin covers, rare booklets and more. Finally, the last session is highlighted by Large Lots and Collections, with 184 lots ranging from single country albums, specialized holdings, multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact.

1854 outer FL from Reims to Naples, Italy, franked with 10c Pale bistre brown ("Repub Franc"), used in combination with "Empire Franc" 40c orange and 1fr lake, first and last with margins all around, 40c just touching outer frame-line at top, tied by small "2642" numerals, with corresponding Reims 3 Apr 54 departure cds below, red "Franca" and "PD" (paid to destination) hs, Paris transit pmk on back, addressee's name partially obliterated, causing minor paper erosion, still a fine and rare three-color mixed franking combination to Italy, signed Diena, with 1975 Royal certificate
