The May 7-8, 2024 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World will take place at our Teaneck, N.J. Galleries, via CherrystoneLIVE. There are 1,562 lots, offered in four sessions, beginning with United States, followed by a diverse worldwide holding formed by Dikran Taner. There are solid sections of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Italian States, Switzerland, Turkey, as well as British Commonwealth, featuring John Pedneault's postal history of Ireland, extensive Bermuda, British Africa and various individual rarities. In addition, there are selections of China, with Red Revenues, numerous Flight and Zeppelin covers, rare booklets and more. Finally, the last session is highlighted by Large Lots and Collections, with 184 lots ranging from single country albums, specialized holdings, multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact.

United States - Air Post Flight Covers
1928 (9 July) Boston, cover franked with 10c Lindbergh, bearing "Official Welcome to America Earhart, Wilmer Sultz, Lou Gordon "Friendship" fliers" cachet, actually autographed by all three fliers, v.f., addressed to Mr. George W. Angers (Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in 1928, but only as a passenger. Wilmer Stultz and Louis Gordon did the actual piloting. The trio made their crossing in a Fokker F.VII Tri-Motor named "Friendship". Their successful flight took them from Trepassey Harbour, Newfoundland, to Burry Port, South Wales in 20 hours and 40 minutes)
