Lot #1337
TIBET
1944 cover from Kathmandu, franked on back with 8p magenta, sent to Pharijong, where Tibetan franking was added and tied by native cds, with arrival pmk, minor faults, otherwise fine (an Indo-Nepal Postal agreement of 1937, permitted the use of Nepalese stamps in place of Indian stamps on regular mail from Nepal to anywhere in the British India Postal System. Eight Pice postage was required, but the Nepalese Post Office was seldom used, as the British India service was faster and more efficient)
