The May 7-8, 2024 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World will take place at our Teaneck, N.J. Galleries, via CherrystoneLIVE. There are 1,562 lots, offered in four sessions, beginning with United States, followed by a diverse worldwide holding formed by Dikran Taner. There are solid sections of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Italian States, Switzerland, Turkey, as well as British Commonwealth, featuring John Pedneault's postal history of Ireland, extensive Bermuda, British Africa and various individual rarities. In addition, there are selections of China, with Red Revenues, numerous Flight and Zeppelin covers, rare booklets and more. Finally, the last session is highlighted by Large Lots and Collections, with 184 lots ranging from single country albums, specialized holdings, multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact.

 | Lot #1154 POLAND 1803 French military two-page folio, dated "5 Messidor an 11" (24 June, 1804), headed "Relations Exterieures, Commissariate des Isles Canaries", Cadiz, Spain, instructing that some French soldiers from the detachment of the 18th brigade of light infantry, embarked on the transport to The Gold Coast, via Pondicherry, India, including those of the "Polish Legion" who arrived on the French brig, with the list and ranks of the soldiers (including Corporal Gregor Groupinsky of the Polish legion), signed Duc Denis Decres, Napoleon's Minister of the Navy.
