The May 7-8, 2024 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World will take place at our Teaneck, N.J. Galleries, via CherrystoneLIVE. There are 1,562 lots, offered in four sessions, beginning with United States, followed by a diverse worldwide holding formed by Dikran Taner. There are solid sections of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Italian States, Switzerland, Turkey, as well as British Commonwealth, featuring John Pedneault's postal history of Ireland, extensive Bermuda, British Africa and various individual rarities. In addition, there are selections of China, with Red Revenues, numerous Flight and Zeppelin covers, rare booklets and more. Finally, the last session is highlighted by Large Lots and Collections, with 184 lots ranging from single country albums, specialized holdings, multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact.

1846 (19 Aug) four-page letter sent from Lexington, Mich., postmarked "Port Huron" (Sep 8), with "Paid" "X" (10c), via Steamer to Liverpool and onwards to Ireland, fascinating contents, Irish Missionaries in Michigan, bringing religion to the Cherokee Indian Nation, also describing the writer's journey from Dublin to Quebec and final destination in Michigan, "America/Liverpool Sep 30" and red "Oct 1" markings on back, overall toning, otherwise fine
