The May 7-8, 2024 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World will take place at our Teaneck, N.J. Galleries, via CherrystoneLIVE. There are 1,562 lots, offered in four sessions, beginning with United States, followed by a diverse worldwide holding formed by Dikran Taner. There are solid sections of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Italian States, Switzerland, Turkey, as well as British Commonwealth, featuring John Pedneault's postal history of Ireland, extensive Bermuda, British Africa and various individual rarities. In addition, there are selections of China, with Red Revenues, numerous Flight and Zeppelin covers, rare booklets and more. Finally, the last session is highlighted by Large Lots and Collections, with 184 lots ranging from single country albums, specialized holdings, multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact.

ITALY Italian Social Republic - Basa Atlantica
1943 10c-50c overprinted "Italia Repubblicana Fascista Base Atlantica", complete set of six, n.h., fine-v.f., signed Stolow. A rare set, only 50 printed of the 15c (as Air Mail was the only permissible method of communication for this detached base, this set should have been classified as Air Post issue. This base was still held by the Axis for two weeks after surrender)
