The May 7-8, 2024 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World will take place at our Teaneck, N.J. Galleries, via CherrystoneLIVE. There are 1,562 lots, offered in four sessions, beginning with United States, followed by a diverse worldwide holding formed by Dikran Taner. There are solid sections of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Italian States, Switzerland, Turkey, as well as British Commonwealth, featuring John Pedneault's postal history of Ireland, extensive Bermuda, British Africa and various individual rarities. In addition, there are selections of China, with Red Revenues, numerous Flight and Zeppelin covers, rare booklets and more. Finally, the last session is highlighted by Large Lots and Collections, with 184 lots ranging from single country albums, specialized holdings, multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact.

FRENCH COLONIES French Guiana Air Post
1921 75c red, single and large block of 22, used on large part of what was a registered cover addressed to Maurice Prussak in Cayenne, with Saint Laurent du Maroni 9 July 21 departure cds, regular Colonial franking paying 1.90fr, additional stamps apparently removed, markings mostly intact, incredibly rare, the largest known multiple recorded, with 2022 Brun certificate. A fascinating piece from St.Laurent du Maroni (home of the old Penal Colony that inspired Henri Charriere's "Papillon") (YT €46,000 for used singles, with 200% premium for stamps on piece or on cover)
