Cherrystone Auctions March 12-13, 2024 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World will take place at our Teaneck, N.J. Galleries and over the internet via CherrystoneLIVE. The sale contains 1,316 lots and will be offered in four sessions, beginning with United States, with a specialized collection of Postal History of the South, ex-Dabney. Worldwide sections include an exceptional collection of Bavaria, with stamps and covers, offered for the first time at auction. There are solid sections of France, Italy, British Commonwealth, all with many individual rarities. Also featured is a collection of Sweden, with exceptional First Issues. There are 200 Large Lots and Collections, ranging from single country albums, specialized holdings and featuring a comprehensive collection of Indian Feudatory States (estimated to realize $100,000), multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact. 1855 4sk blue, gray, turquoise, 6sk gray, pale gray, 8sk orange, 24sk dull red, orange red, collection on 13 exhibit pages, used singles and covers, identified by Facit and described in respect to color and cancelation. The 4sk value is broken-up into the various color and paper classifications, there are 33 used singles and 7 covers (Facit 2a-2m). There are 25 examples of the 6sk value in the exhibit, including two vertical pairs, one on piece, three singles on piece and two singles on FL from Stockholm to Jacobstadt. The 8sk includes 10 singles and two on cover, one from Uddevalla to Norway, Finally, there are 17 copies of 24s red, plus one on cover. Condition varies, with usual minor faults noted, some signed, many extraordinary copies, 15+ certificates included. A splendid presentation, catalogued as ordinary singles and covers, without any consideration for better shades, paper varieties and multiples,
