1850 2 1/2 Rp black & red, the so-called "Winterthur", unused without gum with complete dividing ornaments on all four sides, beautiful original colors, totally insignificant vertical crease entirely in the right margin, v.f. unused Winterthur, handstamped "GF" (Fulpius), signed Diena, with 1991 von der Weid certificate (this colorful Swiss stamp, popularly known as "Winterthur" was released in 1850 by Zurich postal administration to pay reduced postage for local mail in the larger towns of the cantons Zurich, Zug, Schaffhausen and Thurgau. An unusual feature of this item is the ornamental design placed between stamps. This issue was in use for a very short time, as the Federal local post appeared generally throughout Switzerland on April 5,1850)
