We begin with a nice selection of 19th and early 20th Century United States. European Countries include Austria, Germany and Colonies, Italy and Colonies, Luxembourg, Norway, Iceland, Portugal and Colonies, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. There are many rare and seldom offered classics. Most of the individual lots are accompanied by certificates as well as excellent and comprehensive balances offered intact, with Greece, Germany, Bulgaria, and many others. 1855 4s blue, unused part original gum, large margins all around, couple of natural paper inclusions, excellent fresh color, v.f., pencil signed Diena, also dated and signed Finn Aune, with his 2020 certificate ("wide margins all sides, traces of original gum, unused, hinged, I can find no traces of repair or manipulation of any kind, and had signed the stamp on the back in pencil"). Also included is a photocopy of 1957 Royal certificate. Unused Norway Number One is a great rarity, only a few exist (catalogued as unused without gum. "Stamps with original gum sell for much more.")
