Welcome to our January 9-10 Sale of U.S. and Worldwide Stamps and Postal History. The sale contains 1,508 lots and will be offered in four sessions, beginning with United States and U.S. Possessions. Worldwide sections include France, Germany, Italian Area, with many individual rarities. British Commonwealth, with a further selection of G.R.I. errors and varieties. There are solid selections from rest of the world, with additional items from the Carl A. Kilgas and Martin Stempien estates, plus nearly 200 Large Lots and Collections, ranging from single country albums, specialized holdings and featuring a comprehensive collection of British Commonwealth (estimated to realize $100,000), multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact.

 | Lot #1145 RUSSIA Semi-Postals 1922 (8 July) registered "Lamtev" cover from Novocherkassk to Germany, franked on both sides with the complete set of four Rostov-on Don charity stamps, used in combination with Imperial Arms 6x10k dark blue, 7x4k carmine, also vertical pair of RSFSR 10,000r/40k, all canceled by local and external dispatch pmks, sent via Moscow (15 July), arriving in Brunswick (22 July), archival punches at left, fine and rare cover franked with the complete set of charity stamps, with 1984 Mikulski certificate.
