Welcome to our January 9-10 Sale of U.S. and Worldwide Stamps and Postal History. The sale contains 1,508 lots and will be offered in four sessions, beginning with United States and U.S. Possessions. Worldwide sections include France, Germany, Italian Area, with many individual rarities. British Commonwealth, with a further selection of G.R.I. errors and varieties. There are solid selections from rest of the world, with additional items from the Carl A. Kilgas and Martin Stempien estates, plus nearly 200 Large Lots and Collections, ranging from single country albums, specialized holdings and featuring a comprehensive collection of British Commonwealth (estimated to realize $100,000), multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact.

1850-1990 Aden-Zululand, large collection in 55 albums (3-ring binders), mostly unused singles and sets neatly mounted on computer-generated pages, arranged in Scott Catalogue order, by owner's count 83%(!) complete, astounding 47,000+ stamps. Each British Colony is well represented, with a high degree of premium material, Australia (Kangaroos to £2), Australian States, Barbados, Bermuda, Canada and Canadian Provinces (with Jubilees to $5, Small and Large Queens), Ceylon, Cyprus (George V to £1), Egypt, Falkland Islands and Dependencies (complete, including 2 1/2p surcharge, 1933 Centenary complete to £1 and others), Gibraltar to £5, Hong Kong, India and Indian States, Malaysian States, Malta, New Zealand, Rhodesia, South Africa, British Offices Abroad and others. Stamps were carefully collected unused, l.h. or n.h., occasionally without gum, classics used, with occasional faults noted (generally not counted). There are some high value Specimen overprints, occasional varieties, proofs, duplication consisting of additional commemoratives, blocks, booklets, etc. While hundreds of single lots can be offered from this collection, we have been instructed to sell it intact.
