Our November 7-8, 2023 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World will take place at our Teaneck, N.J. Galleries and over the internet via CherrystoneLIVE and StampAuctionNetwork (SAN). The 1,211 lots sale begins with United States and U.S. Possessions. Worldwide sections include a solid collection of Germany and German Colonies, with many individual rarities. British Commonwealth features British Guiana "Cotton Reels" with an unused 12c black, making its first appearance on the market since the 1935 Hind sale; G.R.I. errors and varieties, strong Bushire, specialized Malaysian States and much more. There are strong selections from various European Countries and rest of the world, with additional items from the Carl A. Kilgas and Martin Stempien estates. The auction concludes with 250 Large Lots and Collections, ranging from single country albums, specialized collections, multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact. 1845 10c black on greenish, position 6, three large margins, cut close to just touching the completely intact black frame at right, bright color and good impression showing every detail with perfect clarity, fresh paper, tied by "St. Louis Mo. Nov 30" circular datestamp on 1845 folded letter from Loker Renick & Co. (Nov 29 departure and Dec 9 arrival docketing) to Charnley & Whelen in Philadelphia, matching "Paid" handstamp, manuscript "10" rate, fine stamp on a colorful FL tied by only the red circular datestamp, without the pen cancel, some ageing and toned spots on lettersheet, fine St. Louis Bear cover, from the renowned Charnley & Whelen correspondence, signed Sismondo, with his 2006 certificate (the earliest known date of use for this issue is November 13th, this cover with date of November 30th is among the earliest known)
