Our November 7-8, 2023 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World will take place at our Teaneck, N.J. Galleries and over the internet via CherrystoneLIVE and StampAuctionNetwork (SAN). The 1,211 lots sale begins with United States and U.S. Possessions. Worldwide sections include a solid collection of Germany and German Colonies, with many individual rarities. British Commonwealth features British Guiana "Cotton Reels" with an unused 12c black, making its first appearance on the market since the 1935 Hind sale; G.R.I. errors and varieties, strong Bushire, specialized Malaysian States and much more. There are strong selections from various European Countries and rest of the world, with additional items from the Carl A. Kilgas and Martin Stempien estates. The auction concludes with 250 Large Lots and Collections, ranging from single country albums, specialized collections, multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact. 1865 (16 Nov) outer FL from Yokohama to Amsterdam, "Via Marseilles" and Hong Kong (28.11), showing "GB/1F26c" accountancy mark (no stop under "C", Proud type A22), with oval Kanagawa (Japan) sender's hs, Hong Kong (Nov 28, 65) in blue and Amsterdam (Jan 66) arrival in red, with crayon rating, all on reverse. An early usage of this accountancy mark, carried on the "Salsette" from Hong Kong to Galle, from there on "Silmla" to Suez and "Nyanza" from Alexandria to Marseille, fine
