Our September 12-13, 2023 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World will take place at our Teaneck, N.J. Galleries and over the internet via CherrystoneLIVE. There are 1,500 lots in the sale, which begins with United States and U.S. Possessions. In the Worldwide section we are pleased to offer Great Britain and British Commonwealth, European Countries and the rest of the world, with exceptional China, including Postal History and additional lots from the Carl A. Kilgas collection. There are further selections from the estate of Dr.Martin Stempien, a specialized collection of Greece and Samos, formed by Dr.Frederick Rogers, and a selection of reference material from Sergio Sismondo's estate, with many fascinating offerings. The auction concludes with nearly 250 Large Lots and Collections, ranging from single country albums, specialized collections, multi-carton worldwide groups and large cover lots offered intact.

1847-1940 A mostly complete collection formed by a European gentleman, offered intact, 1847 5c and 10c, also additional 5c on cover, 1851 1c-12c (two of last), margins all around, 1857-60 complete to 90c, 1861-66 with 5c buff, Grills,1869 Pictorials,1870-73 Bank Note Issues including Grills, 1875-93 sets to 90c (some duplication), 1894-98 Bureau Issues, unwatermarked and watermarked, plus 1902-03 series, all complete to $5, Washington-Franklins complete, with imperf. issues and high values. Commemoratives were collected used and unused (some without gum), with complete sets of Columbians to $5 and Trans-Mississippi to $2 (some duplication), as well as Pan-Americans, Panama-Pacific, White Plains souvenir sheets, etc. Air Post, Special Delivery, Parcel Post (used and unused) are complete (used) as well. Also included are 30+ Civil War Patriotic covers, additional postal history, back of book items, Postage Dues, Officials (plate proofs of high values), mixed condition, usual minor flaws noted.
