 | Lot #2010 RUSSIA 1867 (24 Nov) registered cover sent by a police informant in Orlov to Count Peter Shuvalov (director of the Third Department of His Imperial Majesty’s Own Chancellery, Chief of the Corps of Gendarmes, Adjutant General, Lieutenant General, and Cavalier in St. Petersburg), inscribed “secret, very important, into his own hands.” The postage was 25 kopecks for weight and registration plus 5 kopecks for a receipt, with the Orlov post office wax seal and four wax seals of the sender who wrote “Seal of my coat of arms” around each one  | Price Realized $160.00 |
