 | Lot #2247 LARGE LOTS AND COLLECTIONS UNITED STATES - Covers and Postal History Crash and Disaster Covers 1941-88 collection of 75+ on pages, well described and in various stages of preservation, some badly damaged or burned, with many better items, some possibly unique. The final item in the collection of a cover recovered from the Pan-Am Flight 103, which exploded at 31,000 feet over Lockerbie, Scotland. A small number of U.S. Military personal mail was aboard and it was forwarded from New York, with a mimeographed note "This letter was delayed due to the Air Disaster of Pan Am Flight 103, at Lockerbie, Scotland on 21 Dec 1988" (one of only 3 covers reported).
