1919-31 collection of 60+ crash covers, interrupted flight covers, collection of 60+ on pages, well described and in various stages of preservation, some badly damaged or burned, with many better items, starting with AAMC 190915 (only three reported), 1921 San Francisco "Airplane Fire", Aug.6 Elko, Nevada, 1923 Cochranton, Pa, 1925 First Naval Flight San Francisco to Honolulu, 1926 Bryan, Ohio (pilot Art Smith was killed when his plane crashed into a tree), etc., many extremely rare items, ex-Zvi Aloni (contributor to the "Interrupted Flight Covers" section of the American Air Mail Catalogue)

LARGE LOTS AND COLLECTIONS UNITED STATES - Covers and Postal History Crash and Disaster Covers
1941-88 collection of 75+ on pages, well described and in various stages of preservation, some badly damaged or burned, with many better items, some possibly unique. The final item in the collection of a cover recovered from the Pan-Am Flight 103, which exploded at 31,000 feet over Lockerbie, Scotland. A small number of U.S. Military personal mail was aboard and it was forwarded from New York, with a mimeographed note "This letter was delayed due to the Air Disaster of Pan Am Flight 103, at Lockerbie, Scotland on 21 Dec 1988" (one of only 3 covers reported). A splendid collection of this rather gruesome subject, ex-Zvi Aloni (contributor to the "Interrupted Mail" section of the American Air Mail Catalogue)
