LARGE LOTS AND COLLECTIONS BRITISH SOLOMON ISLANDS Postage Dues
1940-75 specialized collection with used and unused sets of eight, plus 27 covers, with several addressed to well known Missionaries (for example Rev Shepherd at Barakoma Island), some highlights include a 1944 scarce underpaid incoming commercial cover to Lunda with 2p added with Linga type 6 handstamp applied, an incoming commercial cover with "Honiara Tax Payable" handstamp, commercial use from Australia to Yandina with 6p Postage Due paid, inter-island mail from Auki to Yandina with scarce Auki "tax due" handstamp, commercial covers addressed to the Chief of Police at Honiara, Guadalcanal, several commercial covers with regular stamps used to pay postage due, nice variety of handstamps and various offices, etc., fine-v.f. While several may be philatelic, commercial covers with postage dues are quite scarce and this collection offers a wonderful foundation for further study and expansion
