1928 (14 May) Doisy & Carol Paris to Hanoi Flight, Calcutta-Rangoon leg, special card franked with 1/2a George V, tied by Calcutta May 14, 1928 cds, with "By Air" cachet overprinted in red "Plane Crashed at Akyab,16th May 1928", French consulate handstamp alongside, "A Postal Memento of Notable Flights Through India / Doisy and Carol" printed and overprinted at left, repeated and signed by Stephen Smith on reverse "Greetings from Calcutta", with French consulate handstamp alongside, v.f. Only 44 cards (and 77 covers) were carried on this flight which was intended to go to Hanoi but the plane crashed and was severely damaged in Akyab
