Cherrystone is pleased to present our Summer auction taking place on August 9-10, 2022, featuring Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World. This sale contains 1,283 lots, with notable United States, Great Britain and British Commonwealth, numerous European countries, with Austria, Belgium, France & Colonies, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Colonies, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Switzerland. From Asia there are selections of China, Laos and Vietnam. South American countries are also well represented, with a good showing of Inverted Centers from all parts of the globe. There and numerous flight covers and large lots and collections. Please note there are no printed catalogues for this auction.

 | Lot #8197 EGYPT 1866 Reister Essays for the 1866-67 Issue, complete set of four in brown, red, green and blue, plus an additional shade in gray blue, each with value tablets blank, fine-v.f. and rare. These essays are often attributed to the first (1866) issue. It is interesting to note however, that this unadopted design equals in size to the dimensions of the accepted design for the second (1867) issue E

 | Lot #8198 EGYPT 1874 (2 Nov) cover from Cairo to Australia, franked with 1pi red, 1pa mauve and 2pi yellow, tied by Poste Egiziane Cairo cds, with Suez Nov 6 transit, "PD", Melbourne arrival (Dec 12) on back, cover with overall toning and wear, also closed tears, still fine and attractive three-color combination to uncommon destination from Egypt, possibly the only Third Issue cover recorded to Australia (carried per P & O "Peshawar", departed Suez on 6th November, then via Galle to Melbourne)
