1863 1 piastre black on pale gray blue, on thick surfaced colored paper with red control band, third printing (Mi.2/IIIyb, SG 6), showing "Broken Toughra" variety, tied by "battal" mute lattice of dots handstamp in black on registered cover (backflaps missing) from Constantinople, addressed to the 2nd Imperial Army in Shumnu (Bulgaria). The envelope has been refolded and may have been additionally franked at right. A fine and possibly unique example of the Broken Toughra variety on cover, with 2013 Gregory Todd certificate (illustrated in Mehmet Basaran's "Cover Story" on page 131)
