SWEDEN Flight Covers
1929 (9 June), Swedish Fliers Attempt, Stockholm to New York cover addressed to Brooklyn. On 9th June, the "Sverige" attempted to fly from Stockholm to New York, but was forced down in the sea, near Iceland. The crew was rescued and the plane towed into Reykjavik, from where the mail was forwarded to Ivigtut in Greenland by ship and then on to New York, finally arriving on 11th September.
