1914 (22 Jan) Marc Pourpe flight, picture postcard (Omdurman Market) franked with 4m (defective) and tied by Heliopolis cds, addressed to England, message "Greetings by First Flight Aerial Post From the Sudan", with violet "Poste Aerienne Caire-Khartoum/L.N.A. Marc Pourpe 1913-14" cachet, fine and rare card, ex-Garrett (AAMC 4a) (Marc Pourpe took part in an early "Aviation Week" held in 1914, in Heliopolis, near Cairo from January 2 through 12, 1914. While there he made the first airmail flight in Egypt, flying the 1,250 miles from Cairo to Khartoum January 4-12th, with stops in Luxor, Wadi Halfa and Abu Hamed)
