Welcome to our September 15-16, 2020 Auction which will be held simultaneously via CherrystoneLIVE and Stamp Auction Network (SAN). This sale contains 1,353 lots of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World, with United States and European countries, including Austria, France and Colonies, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Spain, and others. Great Britain and British Commonwealth are well represented, covering all Reigns with many high values and sets from Aden to Zanzibar. Also featured is a collection of Imperial China, with Dowagers and extensive Red Revenues which include small 4c and inverted 2c and $5 overprints. This section is followed by solid selection from Republic of China (Taiwan) and PRC souvenir sheets. From Egypt (Kingdom), there is a fine showing of used and unused sets and postal history. This auction concludes with a strong selection of 250 large lots and collections ranging from single country albums to specialized collections (Postal History of Louisiana, British Commonwealth) and multi-carton worldwide properties and large cover lots.

1918-20 collection on pages, written-up exhibition style with 40 covers or cards, study of field post markings of the Czech Army in Siberia, with F.P.O. No.3, armored trains, Tatra Regiment, Sharpshooter Regiment, 6th Rifle Regiment, unframed "Ceskoslovenske Vojsko Polni Posta Cis 12", also "2b" in violet or red, YMCA cards, one with legion stamps sent by Dr.Leopold Kolar of the 8th Regiment, special postcard produced at the lithographic plant of the Czech ministry of War at Yekaterinburg, sent through F.P.O. No.1 at Irkutsk, TPO markings, declared value letter containing 91 rubles, sent by the Czechoslovak commander of the Vladivostok garrison to the Financial Administration of the Ministry of Military Affairs in Irkutsk, another letter containing 120 Siberian rubles, sent from Omsk by the commander of the Independent transport division of the Czech army, Red Cross and POW markings, administration and HQ handstamps, Japanese sandalwood cover and letter from Vladivostok to Prague, FPO letter to Lt. Capek, commander of the 7th Company, cover from a Czechoslovak private Josef Kunc in U.S. Infantry in Siberia, A.E.F. Siberia and U.S. Postal Agency markings also selection of singles and blocks of four showing variety of postmarks, mixed condition, with some cover wear noted, splendid collection of commercial/military usage by the Czech Legion in Siberia, ex-Andy Cronin

CZECHOSLOVAKIA Czechoslovak Legion Post in Siberia
1918-20 collection on pages, mostly written-up exhibition style with 31 covers or cards, retracing the Czechoslovak intervention in Siberia, starting with 3k Russian stationery card, with designation "postal card" crossed out, with Russian word "The army on Active Service" added, handled by the Chelyabinsk-Omsk TPO 167 on 7 Dec. 1918, censored en route by the White Russians at Omsk and by the Americans, presumably at Vladivostok, showing obscure Czech marking in violet (9th Infantry Regiment named after Karol Havlicek Borovsky), continuing with 1919 Canadian YMCA envelope from the Commissioner for the rear supply service of the Czech Forces in Siberia, declared value letter, postal card addressed to Antonin Novotny in Omsk (he later became the head of the Czechoslovak Field Post in Siberia), correspondence of Bohumil Dlouhy, showing various field post markings, telegram, special picture postal card and five covers and cards actually franked with the special stamps, all neatly described, mixed condition, ex-Andy Cronin
