CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA CSA - Captured U.S. Patriotic covers
1862 Captured Union Patriotic - "Corn (not Cotton) is King", patriotic design in red showing "Farmer Harvesting Corn" on cover to Athens, Ga., franked with horizontal pair of 5c blue (four margins, each repaired with piece added), manuscript numeral "24" (date) cancel, tied by matching "Larkinsville, Ala. Nov. 24" (1862) manuscript postmark, v.f. appearance. Despite the repaired stamps this is one of the most attractive Captured Union patriotic used in the Confederate States, ex-Tate collection
