PALESTINE Air Mail History of the Holyland Flight Covers
1917 (18 May) picture postcard (Jordan River) to Germany, with Feldpost Mil.Miss. A.O.K.4 departure pmk, with endorsements indicating presence of the German Flying Corps. A.O.K.4's headquarters of the Imperial German Flying Corps 300 (better known as "Pascha 300") was located at Bir es Sheba and this card was posted at Ramle and forwarded through the marine post office in Berlin. The sender was attached to the anti-aircraft batteries ("Flakzug 136"), one of only two cards flown by this Corps, possibly the beginning of Airmail service in the Middle East
