BRITISH COMMONWEALTH BATUM
1919 35k on 4k Arms, unused and affixed on unaddressed postal stationery card, v.f., signed Herbert Bloch, with 1983 Friedl certificate. Only 46 (!) stamps received this surcharge and were affixed on stationery cards; some were used, others were generally removed from cards. A significantly undercatalogued rarity, illustrated on page 82 in "Batum under British Occupation the years 1917-1921" by H.G. Grigoleit & E. Klempka (SG P1, £12,000 for unused stamp off card)
