Steamship Aug 31 / 10" arrival below, corresponding departure and arrival docketing on back, filing fold and other defects through the stamp, additional franking (probably 2x1c ocher) missing, nevertheless fine appearing and possibly the earliest usage recorded of the 1871 Issue on cover (Goodman "Guatemala" illustrated the earliest cover dated October 10, 1871) ( Lanman & Kemp was a multi-generational family firm of wholesale druggists in New York City.
