| Lot #1215 BRITISH COMMONWEALTH AUSTRALIA 1852 (3 Feb) stampless FL from Hobart to San Francisco, endorsed "per Architect", apparently carried "per favor" and placed into the mails on arrival, with May 14 San Francisco arrival and neat "Ship 6" postmark, fine. The Architect operated in the California Gold Rush and then was involved in trade with China and Australia. Gold was discovered in Australia in 1851 and the contents of the letter describe the mining situation in Australia
