1872 (3 July) FL from Matamoros, franked with combination of 1868 and 1872 issues, including the obsolete 1868 6c and 12c applied at the point of origin, then 5c and one 12c cut from an uncanceled letter overprinted 39-71 Tampico. The letter was carried outside the mails by the agent Enrique Duprat and then posted in San Luis Potosi. The devalued 1868 stamps were not accepted and the San Luis Potosi 1872 stamps 12c and 25c (consignment 37-72) were applied. All stamps were then canceled with the "SLP FRANCO".
